My Gear List
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is a list of my favorite running gear. It is in no order of preference. By the way, they just happen to be pink. I don't seek them on purpose.
Ipod 4th Gen, 2 GB |
Nike Air Pegasus 27 |
Asics Gel Attack 6 |
The outsole has reversed lugs that grips the ground like no other. What I love about these trail shoes is that it keeps the debris at bay. The tongue is gussetted. I haven't had any problem with jamming my toenails on any of the downhill running that I've done in these shoes. It is a performance shoes so it is very light at 9.6 oz. My custom-made orthotics fits perfectly in this shoes.
Craft Pro Run Jacket |
The Craft of Sweden Pro Run Jacket. This windproof jacket is featherweight at only 7 oz. It's got zip shoulder pocket, Zip hand pockets, stretch-mesh panels at underarms and back. Love the earth color.
Craft Elite Run Jacket |
- The Craft of Sweden Elite Run Light. Jacket is great for cool weather runs and offers wind protection. The inside has all the seams neatly tapered so it is clean looking. I love the reflective accents for visibility as I like to run in the wee hours of the morning. The zip chest pocket is great for keys. It only weighs 10 oz.
Sugoi Helium Jacket weighs 3 oz. |
The Sugoi Helium is my lightest jacket. It weighs like a feather and breathable while providing great protection from wind, and rain. Semi-fitted for great look and sleek design, but I like a little room, so I got the small. It has reflective accents and a back zippered pocket. It has ventilated perforation.
UV-protected just like the original Moeben Sleeves. If we can help it, let'g make the time to protect ourselves from harmful rays. These guys helped me with the cold too. I haven't found the need yet for the pocket.But it's good to know it's there when you need it.
Try all flavors of GU and save. You get one packet each of Chocolate Outrage, Espresso Love (2x caffeine), Jet Blackberry (2x caffeine), Just Plain, Lemon Sublime (no caffeine), Mint Chocolate, Orange Burst, Strawberry Banana, Tri-berry, and Vanilla Bean. My fave is the Orange Burst.
I wear my sleeves during training to increase oxygen blood flow to the muscles of my lower leg. The more oxygen the muscles receive the faster the recovery. I've worn these during recovery or for traveling after races, especially when we have to drive for hours sitting in a car.
I don't have this yet, but it would be great if I did. Great for trail running to cover my shoes. I don't know how many times I've had to pull over and yank out the shoes to let a loose gravel out.
I love mine for long hours on the trail or a long training run. It holds about 2 litters of water or gatorade. I've had ice in it before and it is so refreshing on your back and then to drink as it melts. This is the man's version. I like it better since the front pockets has 3 compartments as opposed to only 2 for the women's version. Why not give us both the same number of pockets?
Nathan HPL #028 |
I don't have this yet. The vest is called the Nathan HPL #028 Running Vest. They brought this back. It was sold out in 2008. What is neat about this vest is that it light and so useful, keeps your small essentials handy in the front pockets. It takes the weight off your waist. If you prefer to hand held bottles this is the vest for you. You can stuff your lightweight jacket in the back.
The back of the Nathan HPL #28 |
For a quick run about 6-8 miles this is what I use, FuelBelt Helium 2-Bottle Custom Fit. The velcro is tight and does not jiggle. I also have the 4-bottle Fuelbelt which is good for longer runs of 12-15 miles.
Ultimate Direction 20 oz.
Sometimes, I prefer the handheld bottles for my trail runs. This has a thermal sleeve that can keep the water cold and icy. Also has a zipper for car keys, gel, or lip balm. The grip is comfortable and you can adjust it as you wish. It holds 20 oz.
I love this technical vest because it makes it safer for nighttime and early morning runs. It has reflective yarns woven in for safety when running in low light. It is really made for riding, but I use it for running. It is light weight and breathable with two-way stretch. It has 3 secure zipper pockets for keys, gels and whatever else. Mesh back panel and low armholes for ventilation. I love the racer back and the sort of mock turtleneck for when it gets cold. It has a cinche cord so I can adjust how tight I want it to be. People complain about the pooch in the back. It doesn't bother me. Sorry this is sold out from Lululemon. Maybe they'll bring it back.
This salt stick was great for my 50K. It helped me fend off the cramps. I've used them for marathons too. They are a great invention. But when times I can't get them, regular table salt is fine. I use 2 packets with 8 oz of water.
